Two-lane lattice hydrodynamic modeling at sag sections with the empirical lane-changing rate

Sag sections are freeway where the gradient varies significantly from top to bottom. Due their special geometric characteristics, sag often bottlenecks in motorway networks. However, we still unclear about underlying mechanisms of traffic congestion two-lane sections. Based on actual lane change experience, a lattice flow model at considering empirical rate is proposed. The developed reveal evolutionary characteristics section, and then alleviate problem section. In this paper, described as function that depends road density. First, condition stability was obtained by analyzing linear when changes were allowed. system show parameter slope have important effects system. Then, mKdV equation describing phase transition its solution using nonlinear analysis. Finally, numerical simulations performed. results increase increases uphill opposite downhill Moreover, lane-change can effectively region suppress congestion.
